7 Artifacts is a puzzle game that despite lacking originality, may turn out attractive for casual gamers who enjoy engaging storylines, set in ancient times. The game features a powerful combination: awesome graphics, relaxing gameplay, plus a wide number of levels with lots of combos and bonuses.
The storyline is set in ancient Greece and the main objective of the game is to decipher a mysterious message in a scroll found during an investigation. The player, in the role of Lydia, has to undertake this task by matching three or more same-colored gems, and gathering to complete the message. Each level finished will reveal a phrase of the mysterious letter, and as the player moves on, the game will show a map that will register his/her progress.
It is basically a match 3 puzzle where we have to create chains of more than 3 gems to advance. Those who are fans of the genre will find nothing original in its gameplay, and after a few minutes it may get really repetitive, as it presents no real challenges to overcome.
Probably, the most interesting aspect of the game is its graphic interface, which is absolutely gorgeous and detailed, with a nice combination of colors, and a good recreation of Greek sceneries. Besides, the music and sounds along the game are fabulous.
